Phyllis Mattingly is a native of Versailles and a graduate of Woodford County High School. Ms. Mattingly graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1981 and has practiced in Versailles since that time. She began her practice as an associate with the law firm of McCauley, Elam, Overstreet and Graddy. In 1993 she became a partner in the law firm of McCauley & Mattingly. She continues as a solo practitioner assisted by competent and experienced support staff.
Community involvement
Ms. Mattingly is a member of the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce and previously served on the Chamber Board and as President of the Chamber.
In 2015, based on a vote by members of the Woodford County community, the Chamber of Commerce honored McCauley & Mattingly as the “Best Law Firm in Versailles”. Ms. Mattingly received the Chamber’s Business Person of the Year award in 1992 and the Community Spirit Award in 2005.
Ms. Mattingly is a past state President of the Kentucky Business & Professional Women organization. She is also a past board member and past President of the Woodford County Theatrical Arts Association.
Currently Ms. Mattingly serves as an officer and a Board member of the Woodford County Heritage Committee.
Ms. Mattingly is a member of the Woodford County and Kentucky Bar Associations.

Areas of practice
Ms. Mattingly has practiced extensively in the areas of family law including divorce, child custody, child support, and post-divorce issues. She also has significant real estate experience in the areas of litigation, title work, and conducting closings. Ms. Mattingly has a high concentration of work in the areas of will and trust preparation and handling estate matters. Ms. Mattingly is particularly interested in helping senior clients with their legal needs as they approach life changing decisions.

As a sole practitioner, Ms. Mattingly depends upon her experienced, competent and friendly staff to help meet the needs of her clients.
Marlene Davis has 40+ years experience as an administrative assistant. Mrs. Davis is often the first contact clients have with the firm and she works hard to make them feel welcome and valued by the firm.
